The Sappho Movement is an exciting, fast paced thriller based in the North West of England. The story focuses on Phillipa who is living in the frightening times leading up to and during the rule of a new, brutal government. The complexities of Phillipa's relationships are the least of her worries. Once Giles McCauley and his cruel political party come to power Phillipa has to fight for love, freedom and ultimately her life. Writing the book: This book is a thriller developed from personal experience of prejudice faced for being a gay woman. My partner and myself imagined the worst case scenario at the time to make sense of what we were faced with. We took comfort in the fact that things could have been much worse for us. The story unfolds by introducing a diverse group of woman and displays their different responses to trauma as individuals. The true power of love is shown in different forms. Ultimately it was paramount for me to show the sheer strength of our survival instinct especially through Phillipa my main character. Warning: This book contains in depth descriptions of self harm, suicide, murder and abuse of a sexual nature. All this content is completely necessary to the story.

When author Helmut Brandt is killed in an apparent mugging, P.I. Marco Fontana is hired by Brandt's partner, who suspects this was premeditated murder. Entering the arcane world of the Catholic Church, Fontana encounters forces determined to keep him from getting to the truth. Though he manages to gain access to the upper levels of the Archdiocesan hierarchy, Fontana realizes that the web of power and deceit is every bit as intricate, tangled, and deadly as he imagined.
